The Men’s Shed in South Cerney gives men of all ages the chance to share and learn practical skills like woodwork and DIY in a purpose built centre in South Cerney. You can work on your own projects, take part in group projects and be part of a supportive group of men who come from all walks of life. Men’s Shed gives you the chance to meet people and appreciate the value of peer support. It is especially beneficial for men who are experiencing bereavement, poor health or loneliness. The South Cerney Men’s Shed is now an established part of the South Cerney community. It has developed a number of community projects for the area. These include creating garden planters for Bosch Rexroth in South Cerney, to providing bird boxes and mud kitchens to Ann Edwards School in South Cerney for the children to use and enjoy. There’s lots more planned, so come and get involved. £2 suggested donation for each session.

Time For You is a welcoming women-only group that runs on Monday and Tuesday mornings. As well as plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and lots of chatting, we run topics and sessions to support your wellbeing. This includes creating memory boxes, sewing affirmations for positive mental health, getting closer to nature in Hailey Woods and occasional day trips to places like Bath, Birmingham and Cheltenham. All sessions and topics we cover are decided by the group themselves. £1 suggested donation each session. At The Churn Project, we understand how important it is for men to talk openly about their mental health. Positive Strides is a men’s walking group that focuses on improving wellbeing through walking and talking. It provides a safe space where men can walk, talk and be heard by other men with shared issues and experiences. The group meets at Boxbush Community Centre in South Cerney after the Men’s Shed session. Dogs are welcome, but you don’t have to bring one to join the walks!
