Our Community Shed in South Cerney is an all inclusive community space for people of all ages to meet, socialise and learn practical skills. The Community Shed offers men and women the opportunity to share and develop their practical knowledge – including woodwork, plumbing and DIY skills. You can work on you own personal projects or join in wider community projects taking place throughout the year. Participants can access a wide variety of practical activities, workshops and toolbox talks lead by knowledgeable and supportive staff and volunteers. You can work on your own projects, take part in group projects and be part of a supportive group of men who come from all walks of life. Men’s Shed gives you the chance to meet people and appreciate the value of peer support. It is especially beneficial for men who are experiencing bereavement, poor health or loneliness. The South Cerney Men’s Shed is now an established part of the South Cerney community. It has developed a number of community projects for the area. These include creating garden planters for Bosch Rexroth in South Cerney, to providing bird boxes and mud kitchens to Ann Edwards School in South Cerney for the children to use and enjoy. There’s lots more planned, so come and get involved. £2 suggested donation for each session.

At The Churn Project, we understand how important it is for men to talk openly about their mental health. Positive Strides is a men’s walking group that focuses on improving wellbeing through walking and talking. It provides a safe space where men can walk, talk and be heard by other men with shared issues and experiences. The group meets at Boxbush Community Centre in South Cerney after the Men’s Shed session. Dogs are welcome, but you don’t have to bring one to join the walks!
