A heart warming partnership between Stratton Primary School and The Churn Project Memory Café, has brought generations together through baking and sharing stories. We were delighted to welcome year 6 pupils from Stratton Primary School who joined us recently at our Memory Café, a friendly group for people living with dementia and their loved ones.
It was a fantastic afternoon celebrating the connection between generations and the joy of shared experiences. Guided by the brilliant Meliny from The Kitchen Club Cotswolds, the children teamed up with members of the café to bake fresh batches of delicious scones. The teamwork was wonderful to see, and the results were devoured almost as quickly as they came out of the oven!
The visit offered Memory Café members meaningful social interaction, joyful conversation, and the chance to share skills and stories across generations, while also giving Stratton pupils an invaluable opportunity to learn about community, empathy, and the joy of shared activities.
A huge thank you to Stratton Primary School for getting involved, and to Meliny at The Kitchen Club Cotswolds for leading such a warm and happy baking session. We hope to do a similar activity in the near future!
