Churn Project Families Enjoy a Wild Day Out at the Zoo

This August, we were thrilled to take a group of 35 local families (123 people) on a much-anticipated trip to the new Bristol Zoo location. The outing was organised as part of our ongoing programme to give families the chance to discover new experiences that would often be beyond them, either financially or logistically.

Many families told us it was their first visit to the zoo, and the excitement of seeing these creatures up close made the day truly memorable.

The trip wasn’t just about fun (though there was plenty of that!) –  it was also about connection. Parents had the chance to meet and chat with each other, while children found new friends to share the adventure with.

The day was also made special with a picnic lunch which was prepared by Meliny at The Kitchen Club. Everyone commented how lovely it was!

One of the parents said:

“I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to have a day out like this and have the stress of finance taken off me so I can really enjoy my day out either way my children. Thanks so so much!’”

“We would like to say a huge thank you to The Julia Rausing Trust whose donation to has made this possible. And to my amazing staff who worked really hard to make this day happen.” Rachel Stainton, Family Service Coordinator
