Building a community partnership between The Churn Project and Chedworth Roman Villa.
Our Ageing Well Service recently had a wonderful afternoon out at Chedworth Roman Villa – National Trust.
Chedworth Roman Villa, nestled in the Cotswold countryside, is one of the grandest Roman villas in Britain, where visitors can explore intricate mosaic floors, well-preserved bathhouses, and sophisticated underfloor heating systems.
Members from our Memory Café and Sociable Strolls were invited for a tour of the Roman Villa and a handling session looking at Roman artefacts and remains from the site. They had a brilliant time, with lots of laughter, especially sitting on the communal loo!
So many of those who attended shared that they had never visited Chedworth before and how lucky we are to have such an historic site on our doorstep. It was also nice to visit the Café and Gift Shop.
Thank you to Claire, Olivia, Hazel, Tim, and the wonderful volunteer tour guides who looked after us so very well.
