AGEING WELL service

Our Ageing Well programme offers older people the support they need to stay connected to their community. We provide a range of services from groups, individual support including befriending and advice and support to carers.

Individual support

Befriending

Churn Good Neighbours is a free and confidential service available to anyone over 65 who is living alone. We match people with a volunteer befriender will make regular phone calls or visits and maybe even go out together for a walk or drive. The befriender will not take on other tasks but through the CGN manager they can help to signpost to other services.

Side by Side Support

Our volunteers can also work with people to help build confidence and regain independence by enabling them to engage in activities outside the home.

Carer’s Support

We can help a carer take some much needed time out by providing a volunteer to visit the person they are caring for. We also offer informal peer support through our Memory Club and other groups

Friendship CafÉ

For older people who would like to get together for a chat, support new friends and have a cuppa. We know that staying connected with other people has a positive impact on health. Sometimes life events mean that we lose some of the friendships and connections we have made. This group is extremely welcoming, there’s always a cup of tea and the chance for a chat. Come along and see for yourself.

Tuesday 2.00 - 3.45pm at Ashcroft Church, Ashcroft Road, Cirencester. (Café does not meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month).

No booking required, just turn up.
