The Churn Project welcomed supporters, partners and community members to its Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing people together to reflect on the past year and look ahead to an exciting new chapter.
The AGM provided a valuable opportunity to share achievements, celebrate impact, and outline future plans. This year’s meeting was especially meaningful as the organisation celebrates 25 years of The Churn Project and prepares for its relaunch as The Churn Community Hub – a name that reflects its growth and the increasingly central role it plays in bringing people together.
Over 100 attendees heard about the progress made over the last year, the difference being made across the community. and transition to The Churn Community Hub marks an important milestone, recognising how the organisation has evolved alongside the people it supports.
The evening combined formal AGM business with celebration and community connection. Proceedings opened with a welcome from Chair of Trustees Rosemary Lynn, followed by formal AGM business. Guests then enjoyed drinks and canapés before a programme of speakers and presentations. This included reflections from CEO Sarah Bourne on 25 years of The Churn and its future direction and insight into the VCSE landscape in Gloucestershire from Matt Lennard of Gloucestershire VCSE Alliance.
The event closed with words from Dr Roz Savage, MP for South Cotswolds and Patron of The Churn Community Hub, before post-presentation refreshments gave attendees further opportunity to connect.
Sarah Bourne, CEO expressed sincere thanks to everyone who attended the AGM and to the wider community for their continued support, enthusiasm and commitment.
She said: “This year’s AGM felt truly special. Reaching 25 years of The Churn Project is a moment of real pride, and getting ready to begin our next chapter as The Churn Community Hub makes it even more meaningful. Everything we’ve achieved has been shaped by the people around us – our community, partners, volunteers and supporters. Their kindness, trust and encouragement are what make The Churn what it is. We’re so excited for what comes next and to keep growing a place where everyone feels welcome, supported and connected.”
As the organisation enters its next chapter, the focus remains on strengthening connections, supporting local people, and building an inclusive community where everyone can feel they belong.
